FAQ's
01 | How does your practice work?
For new patients, your initial visit will be 60 minutes. Typically, I’ll schedule a follow-up in 2-3 months and continue seeing you at that interval until you’re feeling your best!
Follow-up visits are generally 30 minutes. And don’t worry—I’m always here to answer your quick questions between appointments.
New patient visits are 60 minutes. After registering, you’ll receive an intake form to complete, which is reviewed before your appointment. Together, we’ll determine your diagnosis and order any necessary testing, lab work, and prescriptions (including HRT) to be sent to your local pharmacy. Our process involves a lot of shared decision-making, and I’m happy to work alongside your primary care doctor and gynecologist as needed.
02 | What issues do you see patients for?
03 | What hormones do you prescribe?
I prescribe FDA-approved hormone therapy (HT) that can be sent directly to your local commercial pharmacy, making it easily accessible and typically covered by your insurance or available economically.
HT may include estrogen, progesterone, and/or testosterone therapy.
04 | Why do you not utilize hormone pellets?
While hormone pellets are popular and seem to offer convenience, significant concerns exist, primarily due to their lack of FDA approval and regulation. This raises questions about quality control, consistency of hormone levels, and unknown long-term risks, especially concerning potential links to cancers and cardiovascular events compared to other HRT forms.
Pellet insertion is an invasive procedure with risks like infection, and once implanted, difficulty adjusting or discontinuing dosage can arise if side effects occur. Other potential issues include initial hormone surges and side effects like acne or mood swings. Furthermore, pellets are typically more expensive and often not covered by insurance. For these reasons, better-researched and more flexible FDA-approved HRT alternatives like pills, patches, creams, and gels are often preferred.

05 | Pricing: How much does it cost?
Pricing is as follows:
New telemedicine patient: $495.00
Follow-up telemedicine visit: $225.00
New patient, GROUP visit, telemedicine: $250.00
New patient, GROUP visit, in-home (SD county): $275.00
I don’t take insurance, but I can make you a ‘Superbill’ that you can submit for partial or full reimbursement from your insurance company. You can also use FSA/HSA funds if applicable.
06 | Can you be my primary care provider?
While I can’t serve as your primary care provider and, due to my virtual practice model, I don’t conduct in-person physicals, pelvic exams, Pap smears, or procedures. I’m happy to collaborate with your local healthcare team as needed.
07 | Do you take health insurance?
08 | Can I use my health insurance for labs and medications?
09 | What is your cancellation policy?
I understand – Life happens and plans change…
Please cancel your appointment online or by phone at least 48 hours in advance to allow time for the slot to be filled. Cancellations or no-shows within this 48-hour window will incur a $100 fee. Your understanding is greatly appreciated.
10 | Can you see patients outside the state of California?
11 | If I am a medicare beneficiary, am I eligible for being seen?
Thank you for your interest in my practice. Currently, due to specific regulatory requirements that guide how I operate within my practice model, I am unfortunately unable to accept Medicare beneficiaries. I understand this news might be disappointing, and I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience it causes. Please don’t hesitate to reach out; I’d be happy to assist you in finding other providers who can meet your needs within the Medicare program.
