FAQ's
01 | How does your practice work?
Please see my membership page for more details.
We start with an Initial Consultation, where we do a very deep dive into your goals, symptoms, concerns, and medical history. You receive a detailed, expert proposed plan of care.
If you decide to join my practice as a concierge member and patient of The Midlife Membership, we work closely together and start implementing your plan of care which may include Hormone Therapy, comprehensive labwork (if not completed prior), non hormonal therapies, referrals, and lifestyle/supplement recommendations and support.
02 | What issues do you see patients for?
I address hormonal concerns, including but not limited to peri/menopause, post-menopause, POI, sexual health, PMDD, endometriosis, and thyroid disease.
Often women come to me with overlapping syndromes like POTS, MCAS, hEDS which I can also help manage and direct with appropriate referrals and work up.
03 | What hormones do you prescribe?
I prescribe FDA-approved or compounded hormone therapy (HT) that can be sent directly to your local commercial pharmacy, making it easily accessible and typically covered by your insurance or available economically.
HT may include estrogen, progesterone, and/or testosterone therapy.
04 | Why do you not utilize hormone pellets?
While hormone pellets are popular and seem to offer convenience, significant concerns exist, primarily due to their lack of FDA approval and regulation. This raises questions about quality control, consistency of hormone levels, and unknown long-term risks, especially concerning potential links to cancers and cardiovascular events compared to other HRT forms.
Pellet insertion is an invasive procedure with risks like infection, and once implanted, difficulty adjusting or discontinuing dosage can arise if side effects occur. Other potential issues include initial hormone surges and side effects like acne or mood swings. Furthermore, pellets are typically more expensive and often not covered by insurance. For these reasons, better-researched and more flexible FDA-approved HRT alternatives like pills, patches, creams, and gels are often preferred.

05 | Pricing: How much does it cost?
Pricing is as follows:
Initial Consultation: $450 for 75 min visit.
Foundation Phase of The Midlife Membership: $2,495 for 4 months of unlimited visits and access to your providers.
Maintenance Phase of the Midlife Membership: $150/month
Annual Visit: $375 for 60 min with lab review
06 | Can you be my primary care provider?
While I can’t serve as your primary care provider and, due to my virtual practice model, I don’t conduct in-person physicals, pelvic exams, Pap smears, or procedures. I’m happy to collaborate with your local healthcare team as needed.
07 | Do you take health insurance?
I do not directly participate with insurance plans, allowing me the freedom to dedicate more time to you, and offer personalized services without typical limitations. I am happy to provide a superbill which you can submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement. If you have an HSA, you can use it to cover your visit.
08 | Can I use my health insurance for labs and medications?
Generally, Yes, we work very hard to try to get these covered, however we are at the mercy of healthcare systems and insurance policies. Most prescriptions and lab work are usually covered by insurance. Please check with your insurance company to verify coverage and copayments. I do have ability to order much more affordable cash pay options for both labs and hormone therapy.
09 | What is your cancellation policy?
I understand – Life happens and plans change…
Please cancel your appointment online or by phone at least 48 hours in advance to allow time for the slot to be filled. Cancellations or no-shows within this 48-hour window will incur a $100 fee. Your understanding is greatly appreciated.
10 | Can you see patients outside the state of California?
11 | If I am a medicare beneficiary, am I eligible for being seen?
Yes! I may accept patients that are on Medicare, but please note, we do NOT BILL Medicare – we will both sign a contract that neither one of us will seek reimbursement from insurance for my services.
